The Journey – November

November 6, 2013

  • Morning appointment with the breast reconstruction surgeon.
  • Echocardiogram of the heart
  • Port catheter placed in the left side of chest to be used for chemo infusions.

November 7, 2013

  • First treatment of chemotherapy – Infusions will consist of Herceptin, Perjeta, Taxotere, & Carboplatin.  Infusions last for a total of 5 hours.

November 8, 2013

  • 1:00 PM a quick visit to see how I am doing and a shott of Neulasta.  This should help keep the nausea down.

November 12, 2013

  • 9:00 AM chemotherapy – infusion of Herceptin.                                                                   

November 15, 2013

  • 10:20 AM our lab work with our trusted nurse Suzie.  It is important to monitor the white blood cell counts.

November 19, 2013

  • 9:00 AM chemotherapy – infusion of Herceptin.

November 26, 2013

  • 9:20 AM our lab work with our trusted nurse Suzie.  It is important to monitor the white blood cell counts.   This will be followed by the second round of Chemotherapy.

    Kaci you have past the biggest hurdle getting the final diagnosis and knowing what is ahead of you. The rest is not easy, but you know what to expect now. You, Michael and the girls are in are prayers. You will be back on the slopes before you know it! Patty Miller

    got my hereditary ‘brachi’ test back and good news, no cancer cells in my genes, so that makes me feel good for my girls! But, my cat scan came back with some swollen nodes under my sternum, so going in for a PET scan this Wednesday to make sure no more little buggers are hiding out!

    yay for no cancer cells in your genes….There’s some great news. Now about the swollen nodes…? I have heard that they get swollen when fighting disease….that def applies. Hugs my friend.
